I identify as a white, queer, cisgender, second-generation American, multi-cultural human who is currently living on the stolen lands of the Ute, Arapahoe, Cheyenne and other tribal nations ancestral homeland. I acknowledge that my presence, power, and privilege here is inextricably linked to forced removal, violent assimilation, and genocide of Indigenous people. I also acknowledge the discrimination, economic inequity, systemic racism, and disproportionate incarceration of Black peoples as a legacy of the abduction, dehumanization, violence, and barbaric oppressive chattel enslavement from the Transatlantic Slave Trade on United States soil which robed these people of their homes, families, ancestors, culture, dignity, and freedom. Similarly, I acknowledge a repetition of the inhumane racism and forced removal of South American and Central American people currently occurring in the United States. May the decedents of Indigenous, Black, Hispanic, and Latino ancestors rise to capture the rich greatness of their Devine cultural birthrights. Asé.
